Theme 2019: Circular economy

The theme for Baltic Sea Future 2019 is circular economy. In the beginning of March next year, hundreds of decision makers, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and industry stakeholders will return to Stockholm and Baltic Sea Future to discuss how this concept can, or can not, lead to a healthier and more sustainable Baltic Sea and Baltic Sea region. The participants represent the local, regional, national and international level, and they come with political, strategic and operational responsibility.

Circular economy is currently a popular concept promoted by scientists, businesses and governments all over the world. Some think it’s the next big thing in sustainable development, others see it as a hype without substance.

If you ask Wikipedia, circular economy is “a regenerative system in which resource input and waste, emission, and energy leakage are minimized by slowing, closing, and narrowing energy and material loops.” If you ask us, circular economy is an approach which – if all parties concerned would embrace it – could be of great benefit when addressing the Baltic Sea’s and region´s future challenges.

Are you searching for new partners in this field? Business development with these people as target groups? Or competence development for your own staff? If the Baltic Sea’s future is part of your business – then Baltic Sea Future is the place to be.
